“Moderation” as in “Censorship?” In America we have a law called “Freedom of Speech”! Who exactly has the authority to do this “Moderation”?

When American Idol 3 was hurting for some excitement, they brought Clay on TWICE during that season to boost their ratings. Once he did a rendition of “Fantasy” with the current lady contestants as backups, and earlier the same season, he was a guest performer doing his fantastic rendition of “Solitaire”. When he did it during AI2, Neil Sedaka declared it to be “forever a Clay Aiken song”, because his performance was the most superb he’d ever heard. You talk about shock and awe!!! That was me when Clay walked out!! He stole the entire show with his incredible voice and stage presence!!! A moment in history I will never forget.

Most EPIC moment in Idol history? I’d go so far as to say that it might just be THE most EPIC moment in television history!

Absolutely loved seeing the audience’s reaction to Clay and knowing that that shock and awe moment was playing out in millions of households nationwide.

I absolutely love that moment. I will never forget
seeing it on TV that night. My daughter said Mom, that’s CLAY!!! I was stunned! I think the whole country was stunned.

Nothing could ever compare. Clay took control of the moment and sent AI into a tailspin. AI tries to manufacture excitement and Clay just is excitement. Too bad they don’t like him. Plenty of people still do.

That was one of the greatest moments in AI history. I’ve watched this video time and time again and it puts a smile on my face everytime. This was an awesome moment, pure and simple.

Nothing AI could ever do will bring back those days. Pure, natural talent without all the bells & whistles.

Funny how the highest rated AI shows EVER (documented) are the AI2 finale (Clay season) and AI5 Finale (Clay announced as being on the show).

AI has never been able to capture that since that and never will.

Awesome watercooler moments both involving Clay Aiken. Nothing more needs to be said.
