In the pressconnects.com online news Matthew Edwards talks about his student.
American Idol is in full swing and 104,000 who auditioned have been cut down to 200 talented singers who get to spend a week in Hollywood to be televised beginning this Tuesday. One of those singers is a student of local vocal coach Matthew Edwards.
Edwards who teaches privately in the Binghamton area as well as at SUNY Cortland and Hartwick College is also a singer with Tri-Cities Opera and is the Executive Director of Binghamton’s KNOW Theatre.
As for the singer on Idol? Edwards says the singer is a senior named Jesse from Hartwick College who auditioned and was moved to the Hollywood round at the New York City auditions which aired last Thursday. As for any other details, Edwards says the whole process is very hush and his student hasn’t even been able to tell his teacher what happened during Hollywood week. “Its extremely exciting to have someone make it that far, but its also nerve wracking,” says Edwards “I’ll be watching closely to see what happens next. Knowing Jesse, I wouldn’t be surprised if he went all the way.”
Mr. Edwards can’t say who Jesse is but we can. The Hollywood rounds begin tonight!
