Hate to break it to the terminally chaste but In the real world of music outside the AI bubble, this is pretty tame for a rocker. Put it in perspective: anyone remember Nine Inch Nails’ Closer? If not here’s a little reminder of the chorus: “I wanna FU like an animal..” all the while showing close ups of the lead singer singing into a phallus shaped microphone.
Adam looks amazing here. What’s even more amazing is that this is just one of his styles. If you look at his youtube videos there’s an amazing amount of variety.
Not everyone likes rock or alternative music, but that’s no reason to single Adam out as if he’s doing something beyond the pale when what’s he’s doing is right on for the genre.
No WONDER he wears soooo much heavy make up! The guy truly is homely and not in a kinda sweet…nerdy…awe shucks way either. Just butt u.g.l.y.

How can you even compare his anticks to Elvis? Last I checked I never saw Elvis grab his balls. Oh and the reference to Prince was pretty stupid too-not even close my dear. Also, just because someone doesn’t like him does not mean they are an angry Claymate. I think comments like that just show pure ignorance and stupidity. I know a lot of people who love both Clay and Adam so those comments don’t even make sense. I personally started off wanting Adam to win AI because he was different and wasn’t afraid to be (I absolutely loved his rendition of Mad World btw) and considering this was by far one of the most boring seasons of AI ever, he really spiced it up; but after seeing more and more of this kind of crap it made me not like him. To each his own I guess.
Definitely not a role model. I like Adam’s voice when he decides to sing and not scream. but I did not vote for him. He definitely does not fit the image of an American Idol.
NO ONE who had to go to American Idol for exposure is “a musical genious.” Especially one who’s been singing/acting professionally for over a decade & still can’t make it.
Get a life people. There is nothing “hanging out” there … it’s the shiny zipper showing … he wore those pants on AI. As for the crotch grabbing, although I don’t necessarily like seeing it in a performance, it is everywhere … I’ve seen it on SYTYCD, even “abbreviated” versions on DWTS. And lots of live performers do it. Adam knows how to cater to his audience … this was an intimate show in a club. When he performs on a stage like AI, he performs for that venue. When he is recording in the studio, he changes the arrangements to fit radio play. The man is a musical genius.

I don’t see why everyone is jumping on his case now. That video was shot over 2 years ago, it certainly is provacative and some may say indecent, many would say extremely sexy in a dirty rock kinda way. If you even attempted to understand the lyrics you will see that he is also ‘acting’, not just singing, this isn’t the real Adam – he has on many occasions said that his performances are OTT and dramatic but that’s not him inside, it’s a persona of his. He’s older now, and even though he could apologise for a 3 min song at a gig he did back when, he has no reason too and he will not regret doing what he did, he had fun, he put on a good show and we celebrate the day he will do it once again headlining his own tour – Millions of girls and a hell of a lot of guys can’t wait!
Also, the fan who took that video doesn’t appreciate people “stealing” her video btw, it’s not like you’ve even used her Youtube link for it, you’ve completely rehosted it – And why the copycat name eh?

Seriously….this upsets you? This is shocking? I guess you guys would fit in with those who thought Elvis or Joe Cocker shouldn’t be shown from the waist down on the Ed Sullivan Show…in the fifties. I think everyone just needs to breathe and get a little perspective…it’s just a guy in tight pants after all (a sexy one at that).
I truly believe that when Adam does his interview discussing his sexuality, he’s going to be either Bi or Hetero, and this whole charade is just that; (another score for AI). He does remind me of Michael Jackson in this performance though. As far as talent and character; he doesn’t hold a candle to Clay (and AI’s been hounding him from the start about coming out. He’s been such an exemplary roll model in every way, but they still continue to “beat him up in the “RAG MAGS”. So sad; stay strong Clay, and keep doing all the philanthropic things you’ve been doing all along; those of us with taste and intelligence know you are still the “Best thing that ever happened to AI” (and that’s a quote from Simon Cowell’s book “I Don’t Mean To Be Rude, but”
