When some of Adam Lambert’s fans got wind of a contest to win backstage passes to an AI concert they swarmed the site where Megan Joy’s mother was running the contest to meet Megan. When Megan’s mom caught on, she had to post:
“I am sad to be ending the “50 words or less” contest, as of July 22nd. If you entered the contest prior to July 22, your entry will still be considered. While I don’t blame ANYONE for wanting to go backstage and meet any or all of the top 10 Idols, I prefer my time and energy be spent on Megan’s Fans! “
One of Adam’s fans won passes by pretending to be one of Megan’s fans. She posted this:
“I haven’t received a confirmation email from AI either and my daughter and I are shaking in our boots worrying the passes won’t be there tomorrow when we get there.
I went out and bought a ton of makeup to do my eyes like Adam’s are for the tour. I will probably end up looking like a clown and wash it all off. LOL. I’m making an Adam t-shirt tomorrow morning and putting a blue streak in my hair. If I don’t chicken out that is.
I experimented with dark blue nail polish yesterday covered in sparkles and liked it so much I never took it off. It’s so cool. And I don’t care who thinks it looks stupid on an old fart like me. LOL.
I am so nervous. REALLY nervous! And now after hearing that Adam didn’t come out to the barricades to sign autographs, I’m even more nervous. I hope he is all right.

Adam has been ducking out of signing autographs after the show because rumor has it that he feels that his fans are stalking him. Welcome to the club, Adam. I hope you don’t think you’re the first or last that has had to deal with crazy fans. Suck it up, boy! Idols better than you have learned to deal with it graciously.

I am sure that Adam has some nice fans, but he has too many that are his worst enemy.

I don’t think misstating what was said in this article is helping “distractedheart”. She didn’t say that Adam fans are crazy. Just stated the fact that Adam fans are responsible for Megan’s mom closing down the contest that was meant for Megan’s fans. The damage has already been done… by the fans themselves. trixie(Quote)
Adam has some really amazing fans who are dedicated to spreading the Glambert love and peace, supporting charities in his name, trying to end all this silly fueding between fan bases. Firing it up over something so trivial is just …well..stirring the pot. But I suppose that’s what most people use the internet for. You can hardly expect an open contest to win backstage passes be limited to a certain group. And Adam isn’t “skerd” ..he loves meeting his fans..but 19/AI/ RCA all have a vested interest in making sure that Adam is safe. It’s in their best interest to have him out in the public promoting himself and meeting fans so, if THEY have pulled him from doing that, there’s a good reason. I just hope for the safety of EVERYONE on the tour. Play nice people. I personally don’t get the Lambert/Glambert bashing but I guess we’re just the prey of moment. We can take it cuz we know what the real truth is.
