Adam Lambert Disses Susan Boyle

While on San Diego’s AJ in the Morning radio show, Adam Lambert did a Susan Boyle-style rendition of Wild Horses that wasn’t very gracious or humble.

This video proves to me Adam did say the things he’s reported to have said about Susan Boyle. Maybe they misquoted him by a few words, but it doesn’t matter. The attitude says it all! Who’s laughing now, I wonder?  (Quote)

I can confirm something many have alluded to about Adam. I had an opportunity to meet him and was with my kid sister and some friends. He was really rude to us and acted very high and mighty. I was crushed cuz I loved him so and now I can’t stand him cuz he isn’t that nice guy so many believe him to be. Sorry but that’s the truth. He acted like we were lowlifes and all we did was tell him how much we loved him. My sis was really crushed too. There is no excuse for treating fans who are being very polite, like that.  (Quote)

Susan Boyle has a great voice, no doubt about that. She was my first choice in American Idol and sadly she did not make it.  (Quote)

Mary, please disregard my last 2 entries. We have since spoken and all is good.  (Quote)

    Mary,

I’ll take that one step further. What SPECIFIC point/points did I make that are useless excuses? And why do you see them as excuses and not a valid point? I feel personally insulted that you just dismiss what I say because I don’t agree with you. I listen to and respond to specific details of what people are saying. But you just, in a very general fashion, blow me off without actually showing me the respect of giving an actual response to what I’m saying…  (Quote)

    Mary,

Why is it anytime I expain something, as I see it, about Adam, you keep calling it an excuse? Is there only one right answer (Adam is an ass) to everything? Blog posts are meant for debate, and you toss the same “excuses” answer in my face every time. How about actually contributing some interesting points to the debate? You’re sounding like a broken record.  (Quote)

Let Adam make fun of Susan Boyle as it gives him another chance to show off his vocals.

Perhaps his disrespect inspired Susan’s sales projection for this week of 625-675,000 where his projected sales are …. oh wait …. his sales are so low that there is no projection for him.

The man is a freak show and a joke. Just my opinion.  (Quote)

All those excuses for Adam are useless. He is what he is and people can see it!  (Quote)

I just think that for the AI tour, Adam should of stuck to the persona he portrayed on AI. I don’t think that parents should of expected the tour to be anything less… or that they should of anticipated that they needed to rush their children out for a potty break during Adam’s set. By the time they realized what was going on it would of been too late. One cannot presume that everyone is tuned in to the internet and would be aware of Adam’s work prior to being on Idol or what his performances consisted of on tour. People showed up in good faith.

The time for Adam to let loose with his own personal style would be on his own tour in appropriate venues. That I would have no issue with as long as he made his audience aware of the adult nature of his performances ahead of time.  (Quote)

    Pixie,

Thank you for being respectful to my thoughts. I hear U and understand where U are coming from, too. In regards to the Tour (I was at the show in Hamiton, Canada, just outside Toronto), if he was disrespecting the audience, you wouldn’t know THEY felt that way through their reactions. It seems to me that he was, by a WIDE margin, the star attraction in almost every city. Most people came to see him. Overwhelmingly.

It’s funny. Me and my 66-year-old mother loved the show and thought he was sexy. On the other hand, I showed one of my sisters a video clip and she was like, “I do not like this guy, he’s too much for me”. I’m sure some people thought he was too sexual, but concerts, in general, are gonna be much more wild than a TV show. Anyone who saw Idol should have known, as I did, that a perfomance by Adam would not be for the Barney-set. People who were offended (probably a very small number, as most were there to see him) could have gone for a potty break when he was on.

For every fan whose questions he ignores/doesn’t anwer (prolly ’cause he was sick of saying “you don’t have to watch me, if you don’t like me”) there are, from what I’ve heard, lots who have said that he’s delightful and gracious.

We’re looking at the same man, just from different angles.  (Quote)

    Leslie,
I do respect your POV. And understand it. Don’t agree with it, but I understand it. MJ’s articles here are not my only source of information. I have read a number of Adam’s interviews and just happen to come away from them with a different perspective than you have. I just don’t believe him when he says he feels bad because he obviously doesn’t. If he really did, he wouldn’t qualify his statements so much nor would he blame those who are upset with his actions. I just can’t get away from how he responded to the fan who approached him on the AI tour with her concerns with him simulating masturbation on stage when the AI tour was suppose to be family friendly and families trustingly brought their children there thinking it would be safe. He totally blew her off. He obviously had no concern for the sensibilities of the parents and children who paid good money to attend the concert. If he was able to modify his performances on American Idol to account for the audience, then he most certainly was capable of doing so for the tour. His disdain and lack of respect for the audience he cultivated and acquired on AI is very apparent and I think that stinks. His attitude colors everything else he says and does. Anything that might be construed as “positive” is not credible in my eyes. Not until his attitude makes some serious changes. He is just not a nice person. I’m sure he can be charming and personable when he chooses to be, but that doesn’t change who he is.

As for raising money for Donor’s Choice, I think that says a lot more about the generosity of the fans than it does about Adam. All he had to do is lend his name and say, “hey, donate some money here”. I would be interested to see how his charity work develops in the future.  (Quote)

    Pixie,

Very little that’s positive about him? I beg to differ. MJ would tell me to can it if wrote everything that I felt, so I’ll try to sum it up. Adam’s astounding voice would be at the top of the list, along with his showmanship (minus the disappointing AMA performance). Also, his overall message of “be proud of yourself, don’t make apologies for who you are” and “It’s okay to be different” Those are beautiful sentiments. Using his fame to raise a decent amount of money for a charity is a positive thing (Donor’s Choose) I could go on and on and on…..

What I find happens on this site is that Adam could give a 3-page interview to a mag or something, and MJ will pull 1 or 2 sentences from that and be all “Look at this, Adam’s such an ass” and that’s the entire focus here….

And you’re right. He has never out-right apologized for his AMA performance. He has stated that he never will. That’s his perogative, and I’m not saying that’s necessarily wise. But he has admitted that he got carried away and feels bad about the people who were offended. And the ONLY reason he has given so many “statements” is that he keeps getting asked, in interviews, all about it.

I’ll end my preach/speech with that, please, nobody tell me to get a Glambert number….(already got one) Kidding!  (Quote)

Adam is hysterical! SNL has got to get him to host!!!!!!

Lighten up–he has a wicked sense of humor. I guess people are not allowed to have those? I guess no one ever in their life has made fun of anyone? People have been making fun of Adam since AI. It’s part of show-biz so don’t be so sanctimonious!

Susan seems sweet but ugh, I cannot listen to her sing. I feel sorry for her. I think that her handlers have to guide Susan around like she is a mental patient which seems wrong. She is not stable and comes across as if she has a mental disability. It’s creepy.  (Quote)

I believe I read somewhere that Adam was teased as a child because of his weight. He should remember that when he makes fun of other people.  (Quote)

Actually, I personally think #3 is pretty darn good. Just not the mega sales some were predicting and tempered by the fact that it really should of been better given the amount of hype he was given and the prime time slot for initial sales.

My dislike of Adam is not as “serious” as it seems. I just don’t care for him or his attitude. When an article comes up like this, it just reinforces it for me. And the “positive” stuff (of which there is little of) is not enough to offset the negative ones. Many of his statements that some qualify as an apology come of to me as being rather disingenuous and rife with deflection and accusations.  (Quote)

    Terri,

I actually agreed that it wasn’t cool. But you guys nit pick and take EVERYTHING he says and does SO SERIOUSLY (unless, of course, it’s something positive, in which case you guys ignore it). He is young and new to being famous; he’s gonna make mistakes. And I LOVE the way, in another post, someone commented “I’m happy for Susan and Andrea for rocking the charts”. OIC. #1 and #2 rock the chart, but if you place third, you’re a failure! So the cut-off is at #3. Now I know.

How about ragging on someone who REALLY deserves it: Carrie Underbitch recently refused to sign an autograph for a KID in a wheelchair (who had waited a couple of hours to meet her). Nice.

But please, carry on about what a douche Adam is…..  (Quote)
