Most of us know that a musician makes the bulk of their money touring and doing private gigs. These are the going rates for the Idols per gig in 2009-2010.
Fact: out of 1515 acts only 116 earn 100K or more. That is only 7.7%.
Fact: out of 14 viable touring Idols, only 5 start at 100K or more per gig.

Kelly Clarkson – 250,000+
Daughtry – 150,000-200,000
Clay Aiken – 100,000-150,000+
Jennifer Hudson – 100,000+
Jordin Sparks – 75,000-125,000
David Archuleta – 40,000+
David Cook – 30,000-50,000
Kellie Pickler – 30,000-40,000
Bucky Covington – 20,000-25,000

I love Kris Allen and hope he finds a succe$$ful niche!!
From record sales, it doesn’t appear that either of them have a fan base to support a solo tour. Kris might start out like Cook did with college gigs and work up from there. Kris is much like David Cook in that he’s talented, has a clean image and is family friendly. It doesn’t hurt that he’s also easy on the eye! I wish him much success.
I can’t comment on the other guy.
After watching Kris Allen’s performance at the Z100 ball, I think he would do well touring, but possibly as an opening act at first. He got a very good reception from the crowd of 18,000. I have no comment on Adam, because I could care less how he does.
Daughtry’s numbers aren’t as good as they look considering he has to split it with his band. I also seem to remember who the big draw was when Kelly and Clay toured…..and it wasn’t Kelly.
wow, that’s quite a list!! Of course I’d be happy for the $10K per show that Blake Lewis gets LOL!!!
I can’t really answer the question on Adam & Kris – I think it’s going to depend on the area of the country & the venue. Just based on what’s gone on since Idol until today, I don’t think either has proven that they have huge drawing power, but it may be a little too early in the game to say for sure. I would think that Kris would draw well in the more “middle America” areas and Adam would draw well in Urban areas – but I’m thinking neither would be a sure fire bet if they are touring solo on a national level.
