How did you manage to offend everyone at the American Music Awards?
I was performing For Your Entertainment, which is a little frisky, and some people thought I took it too far. I kissed a guy and there was some sexual choreography that got people going. Some people thought it was too in your face. As a viewer, I’ve been watching female performers express their sexuality on stage for more than 20 years.
Have you got any crazy fans?
There are a few who take it a little far. I’ve had some fans sneak into a video shoot and one got hold of my cellphone number and wouldn’t stop calling. Most are great.
You’re biologically ginger. Have you ever faced anti-ginger prejudice?
No, I haven’t. I’ve been dyeing it for six years so it’s been a while since I’ve had the real colour. You don’t do rock’*’roll as a ginger.
If people are lacking purpose in life would you advise them to take LSD?
Sure, it’s one method of finding yourself. My trip led me to some epiphanies about who I was as a performer, what I wanted to do and how I needed to create my own opportunities. When I got home, I started writing music with other people and went to the Idol audition. The vision was about finding opportunities. I wasn’t sitting in the desert in rave-wear thinking about Simon Cowell when I was on acid.
What’s the worst job you’ve had?
Singing in a topless show in a casino. It was a real low-grade production. The dudes weren’t coming to hear me sing.
What’s been your worst moment on stage?
The American Music Awards performance. I fell on to a metal staircase and hurt my knees but managed to cover it up. Most people didn’t notice.
Maybe the viewers were distracted by you rubbing your crotch in the dancers’ faces?
Yeah, I suppose they had other things to worry about.

What a ridiculous article. He’s not pushing drugs – he’s just responding honestly to that particular question. Is this site all as dumb as this?
My panties are just fine, thank you very much. And I know plenty of people who were majorly messed up by acid… sometimes by only one use. It isn’t something to be taken lightly. It is despicable for him to treat illegal drug use casually saying things like “we’re all adults” and “it’s rock and roll, baby.” I have no respect for any celebrity who has that attitude as it is not only irresponsible, it also signals an underlying problem that could be more serious than it seems on the surface. Maybe he should consult with Dr. Drew.
Oh man, that is all kinds of wrong. He again is promoting drug use — or at the very least a very casual and nonchalant attitude over a very serious issue.

It’s just acid, it’s not physically addictive and it’s not even something with a culture of regular use. Anyone who develops an acid habit has serious pre-existing problems.
Lambert is talking about a positive experience he had that’s relevant to questions about the direction of his career. No matter how much you want to politicise the concept of illegal drug use, he’s just talking about his experience which WAS positive and led to constructive changes in his life.
