Kristy Lee Cook: Update

TV American Idol

Since her time on the show, Kristy Lee Cook has performed on several television shows, and even sang the Star-Spangled Banner at an NCAA football game between the Vanderbilt Commodores and Duke Blue Devils. She also released an album only a few months after the season ended, appropriately titled Why Wait. The first single, “15 Minutes Of Shame” debuted at #58 on the Billboard Hot Country songs chart.

Although Kristy Lee released an album years before auditioning for Idol, she credits the show for boosting her career as well as her confidence. As she stated in the phone interview, “I needed this push to get my career back starting again because nobody knew who I was before American Idol. So it was definitely the biggest push I could have ever done to get my career started. To be able to sing in front of that many people and in front of judges that you know are criticizing you, I think anybody that can sing in front of that, and to the remaining contestants, will be able to sing in front of anybody. It’s a pretty amazing feeling.”

This girl got ripped off big time. They gave her 4 days to record her album, from a list of pre-chosen songs, no doubt. Then she got no promotion and that was that.
